On the way to Bichlalm you will pass some impressive old Tyrolean farmhouses and enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the Kitzbühel mountains. With the lush green meadows and the scented air of the forests, a walking holiday in Kitzbühel is a holiday for all the senses!

From the car park in Unteraurach, set off in the direction Oberaurach and walk past three fine old Tyrolean farmhouses called Buchau, Trategg and Brandau. At Brandauer Hochalm you will find one of Austria’s first game parks – and also the snuggy Park Restaurant as an ideal place for a stop. Then the walk continues towards Gaisbergsattel (1683 m) and the Bichlalm mountain hut for a genuine Tyrolean country snack. The return route takes you past the Sonnbergstüberl with Rosi the singing hostess (Oberaigen) to Oberbrunn, Unterbrunn, Bachau, Filzerb and Filzen, and back to Oberaurach, the Hallerwirt inn (another good place to stop) and Unteraurach, the starting point of the walk.
