In 2009, the Austrian Mountain Running Championships were held in Kitzbühel.
NEW as of spring of 2010: "Kitz Running" on Jochberg mountain has been extended to include eight brand-new trails covering 65 kilometres and three different starting points. Markers will be put up after the snow melt. All signs will most likely be in place as of May.
