Nordic Walking

Classic nordic walking is perfect also in winter – but you are recommended to use the special winter baskets for your poles. The cleared winter walking routes in Kitzbühel and its lovely surroundings offer a myriad of possibilities for avid walkers.

The most beautiful routes can be found around lake Schwarzsee, in Jochberg and along the countless winter walking paths.

• Bichlach area: This alpine marshland is located behind lake Schwarzsee, offering gently rolling hills ideal for nordic walkers. Perlberg loop trail, 8.3 km (difficulty: intermediate)
• Jochberg: Nordic Fitness Sports Park - Askara loop trail: 5.1 km (difficulty  easy)
  Perlberg loop trail: 8.3 km (difficulty  intermediate)

Absolute beginners are strongly recommended to book some training hours with a certified instructor in order to learn the first movements and techniques of Nordic Fitness Skiing.

Ice sports

Ice with hack and sweepers - ice curling is a pleasant sport. Our local experts are happy to introduce you to this sport and will show you what the hack and sweepers in curling are about. At the tourist office you will get all the information on locations and times.
The outdoor ice arena and the natural rink at lake Schwarzsee offers perfect conditions for ice skaters who want to practice elegant loop jumps or flips. If you like skating outdoors lake Schwarzsee is perfect for you. The thickness of the lake’s ice is of course regularly checked by professionals.
