The sports town of Kitzbühel can look back on a truly splendid skiing tradition but doesn’t neglect up-and-coming trends. Quite the contrary: snowboarders and newschool skiers can enjoy perfect conditions. In addition to countless picture-perfect places in the back country, there are also one ultimate snow park located at Hanglalm. The latter is internationally renowned, securing the area’s reputation as one of the country’s premiere freestyling havens.

The ultimate DC Snow Park Kitzbühel Hanglalm is the crown jewel of snow parks, and is the result of intense innovative development that has taken place over the last few years.  From a bird's eye view, the perfect layout of the single lines and park elements near the Hanglalm (G5) chair lift can easily be seen. In addition to the classic kickers and rail lines, which are ideal for all levels and abilities, a splendid park area with wooden elements was built. Riders can choose from a variety of breathtaking up-down boxes, picnic tables and the obligatory tree jibs. But there’s more: this winter season, you will be able to enjoy a new park area in the upper section of Hanglalm, boasting completely new beginners and intermediate lines with plenty of innovative elements. The upper and lower park sections are interconnected. In addition, a massive gap jump (see picture) has been available since the past winter season, attracting numerous pros and film teams. Snow permitting, real pros can take advantage of a permanently installed double kicker line.

Beyond the snow park, endless powder stashes await you in Kitzbühel's wide open and easily accessible back country region. Powder junkies will rejoice when hitting easy powder runs or more challenging deep snow terrain and true big mountain riding. Don’t miss the majestic Kitzbüheler Horn, one of the area’s highlights, which offers exciting cliffs, grooves, hidden tree runs, endless powder slopes and a variety of kicker spots. Thanks to the Raintal Lift (B4), located at the "Horn," the best slopes with many variations and the coolest cliff drops are easily accessible. The bottom line: come to Kitzbühel and see, ski, and snowboard for yourself.

One Local’s Recommendation - Kitzbüheler Horn: Flo Handschuh

Kitzbühel boasts picturesque back country terrain for outstanding freeriding at the Kitzbüheler Horn, including many cliffs, grooves and hidden tree runs.

One Local’s Recommendation - DC Snow Park Hanglalm: Stephan Wimmer

The Resterhöhe is a perfect spot for unlimited powder riding, even in bad weather, thanks to a couple of tree-covered sections. I’ve been hitting that area for many years. In good weather, riders can take full advantage of excellent kickers and corner spots. The triple kicker line is my favourite feature, as is it is one of the few kicker lines where one can learn new tricks. In addition, the kickers are comfortable and safe and provide the needed air time.
