Skiing has taken place in Kitzbuehel since 1892 and the, "Streif", the famous downhill ski course, lies in waiting for skiers from all over the world. A network of 51 cable cars and lifts, operated by the Bergbahn AG Kitzbuehel, allows you to discover and explore the 170 km of perfectly groomed slopes whilst also providing easy access to the 230 km² Freeride area. As a result, in 2013, Kitzbuehel was voted as and presented with the award for, "best ski resort in the world", by Skiresort.de, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
During the festive period, the Bergbahn AG Kitzbuehel operates a beautifully decorated Kitzbuehel Advent gondola. If you're lucky you may be able to enjoy a ride in this particular gondola.
Kitzbuehel and its picturesque center is the most beautiful “outdoor mall" in Tyrol. Dedicated followers of fashion can find themselves, "hopping", between internationally renowned designers and the stores of Bogner, Boss, Gucci, Moncler, Prada and Louis Vuitton! However, as well as these more widely known brands, established Kitzbuehel, "fashion originals", such as Sportalm, Frauenschuh, Prader and Helmut Eder offer exclusive and exciting creations of their own.
From November 28th onwards, Kitzbuehel is transformed and is reminiscent of a festive scene from a traditional Christmas card. Throughout the snowy town, the scent of mulled wine and gingerbread lingers in the air, signifying it is that time of year again; the Kitzbuehel Christmas Market has opened its doors. Numerous stalls abound, serving not only culinary specialties and delicious hot drinks, but also providing the opportunity to purchase unique crafts and fine gift items. This is what puts the meaning into Christmas and reinforces its true meaning.

The Kitzbuehel Christmas Market provides an excellent daily programme to cater for all ages. For children, there is the hugely popular zoo where they can play with the animals and take pony rides through the market as well as the ever popular letter to Santa Claus that they cannot afford not miss!
Every Sunday from 16.00 - 18.00 hours, there is a mystical torchlight hike with the distinctive storyteller, Reinhard Juen. It is a great opportunity for adults and children alike to hear stories and discover secrets about the legend of Kitzbuehel, the Streif and the legendary Hahnenkamm on an evening trip around the Gamsstadt!

Just five minutes from the centre of Kitzbuehel, in a very different, more contemplative world. Heavenly Advent Rasmushof takes place directly beneath the finish line of the famous Streif racecourse with regional delicacies such as homemade bread with various spreads, fresh roasted chestnuts and more. On weekends, expect additional traditional highlights: Trumpet players, Carol singers, a children's afternoon, and the petting zoo.

Every day up until Christmas Eve a new, "Christmas Window", is opened. You are invited to walk together with your family, friends or with your guests through the pre-Christmas Reith, pausing a little, to talk and to rejoice together at Christmas. All of the 24, “Advent windows”, remain lit after opening until January 6th, 2014.
The Walk – in Advent Calendar takes place daily from December 1st to January 6th, between 17.00 - 22.00 hours.
Different hosts in private houses, invite you in out of the cold to sit together and engage in cordial discussions. Daily from December 1st to December 23rd, from 16:00 to 18:00 hours.
