Deutschland Tour in Kitzbühel - Die Hoffnung der Österreicher - Bernhard Kohl
Deutschland Tour - Prolog vom Schwarzsee zum Hahnenkamm Parkplatz
Deutschland Tour 2008 - Kitzbühel in Tirol
The Germany Tour is the largest German cycling race. It will run from 29 August to 6 September 2008 in Germany and Austria. Upon a route of approx. 1,500 kilometres, the best professional teams from throughout the world will fight for points, prize money and the favour of millions of spectators along the route and in front of the TV.

The Germany Tour is unique. The combination of top-class sport, media event, social event and entertainment is without parallel. In addition, the Germany Tour is the only UCI Pro Tour race held in stages in Germany and thus fits right in with the other professional tour races such as the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta de Espana.

Thus, the absolute top racers will be there at the start in Kitzbühel. This event will be broadcast to over 50 countries in the world. ARD alone has broadcast up to 41 hours live in past years.

As the starting point for the Germany Tour, Kitzbühel is in the heart of the action.

The programme will start on 28 August 2008 with the opening ceremonies. On 29 August 2008, the prologue (individual race) will take place from the Schwarzsee Lake through Kitzbühel and, on 30 August 2008, Kitzbühel will be the starting point for the first stage of the Germany Tour. Peter Marko, Managing Director of Kitzbühel Tourismus, is excited: “Kitzbühel is thus taking another big step as a sports city. The series of sporting top Events will thus be expanded and Kitzbühel can come up with another highlight.”
