Hansi Hinterseer has managed to do what only the Rolling Stones succeeded in doing: concert tickets sold out within just a few minutes. It took just 30 minutes to sell 9000 tickets for both this year’s open-air concerts. The fan weekend also offers up some superlatives, when you think back to last year: 10,000 fans at the hike to the Hahnenkamm, two sold-out concerts in the tennis stadium and capacity attendance at the reception in downtown Kitzbühel. Look forward with us to the Hansi Hinterseer fan-week in 2010, from 15th to 21st August.

It all starts off as ever with the traditional fan hike on the mountain, with us hiking and singing together. Hansi’s friends from “Tiroler Echo” provide the musical accompaniment. With views to the superb mountain panorama we celebrate the traditional mountain mass together. Last year Hansi Hinterseer welcomed over 10,000 fans on the hike to Kitzbühel’s Hahnenkamm. For the impressive climax of the day “Tiroler Echo” will play for fans in front of the impressive backdrop, in Kitzbühel’s historic town centre.

On Friday and Saturday that goose-bump feeling will reign in the tennis stadium. Both open-air concerts are already sold-out and around 4500 spectators will be drawn to the arena. Hansi will really send the crowd into raptures and welcomes lots of musical guests and companions: The Twinnies, Johnny Logan, G.G. Anderson, Marianne & Michael, Frans Bauer, The Stoakogler and many others. Hansi’s audience are a colourful bunch: fans travel from Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France and even from America and Australia. On TV (ARD/ORF) “Das große Hansi Hinterseer Open Air” will be seen by around 8 million viewers!

On Saturday afternoon Hansi Hinterseer and his star guests will be out walking, accompanied by Kitzbühel Brass Band in the picturesque town centre. Thousands of fans will line the streets and alleys.

This multi-day event with a fan hike and open air concerts has, after seven years, already achieved cult status and is certainly ranked amongst the Kitzbühel traditions which are famous far and beyond Austria’s borders.
