17th KitzAlpBike

For the 17th time the mountainscape around Kitzbühel will become the setting for the festival of mountain biking - KitzAlpBike. In this bike event, which is prominent  throughout Austria, everything revolves around mountain biking for an entire week. Especially Sunday where the marathon is the focus of athletes and the media. The 88 km route, with 3800 metres altitude, separates the wheat from the chaff – as do the alternative races over 45 and 24 km.

In the last few years KitzAlpBike has become one of the most important mountain bike events in Austria. Split over several days, there is the right challenge for every ability. From Wednesday to Sunday hill climbs, city cross, kid’s competitions and the big bike and fashion show are on the agenda in downtown Kitzbühel.

The sporting high point of the week is, as always, the marathon, where there are international competitors competing in the classic 88+ distance on the Saturday - 88 kilometres and 3800 metres altitude, and steep climbs and cracking single trails awaiting the bikers on this demanding circuit. For everyone else there are two alternatives - the light – distance, 24 kilometres and 800 metres altitude as an ‘entry-level fix’ for newcomers, as well as the medium-level course over 45 km and 2000 metres altitude.
