1100-800 BC Already at this time there were settlements in the area of Kitzbühel. Urn graves dating back to Bronze Age were found. In the area of Kelchalm mining was pursued.
1000 Finally the town area was developed.

A Bavarian family with the name of “Chizzo” settles on the hill of “Chizbuhel”. As Episcopal fiefs of Regensburg they still owned it in the 13th century.
1255 Kitzbühel falls to Duke Ludwig II, the Severe
1271 Duke Ludwig granted the inhabitants of Kitzbühel the city charter of Munich
1342 Kitzbühel falls to Margarethe Maultasch
1363 Kitzbühel falls to the Habsburg dynasty
1369 The town is handed over to Bavaria again
1412 Foundation of the hospital outside the town walls
1444 There is a mayor of Kitzbühel for the first time
1450 The Ölbergkapelle chapel is built
1504 Kitzbühel falls back to Tirol.

Maximilian I pledges Kitzbühel to the Archbishop of Salzburg, Matthäus I of Wellenburg

In the 16th century the area between Kitzbühel and Schwaz is a mountain farming area. On the spot of today’s district administration used to be the mining administration. The oldest walls date back to the 13th century and can be seen at the museum.
1618 The painter Andreas Faistenberger becomes an inhabitant of Kitzbühel
1696 Duke Johann Raimund Lamberg donates 60,000 gilders to the building of the Capuchin cloister
1863 Year of birth of Franz Reisch – skiing pioneer of Kitzbühel

At the "Schwarzer Adler" guesthouse (today: Hotel Tyrol) the first meeting of the Kitzbühel winter sports association takes place.
