Steinerne Rinne - Ellmauer Tor - Alpin Experts
From the Grießner Alm (1.006m), the walk takes you towards Stripsenjoch. After just short of an hour’s walking, we turn left onto the Eggersteig and from here, pass through the famous Steinerne Rinne gully – the heart of the Wilder Kaiser mountains – up to the Ellmauer Tor.
Fascinating views of the gigantic cliffs line the way. The sporty ones amongst us have the option of climbing to the peak of the Hinterer Goinger Halt (2,195m).
The route continues on the other side of the Ellmauer Tor down to the Gaudeamus hut for a well-deserved break. Finally, we walk for 20 minutes along a forest road to the Wochenbrunner Alm where our taxi will collect us.
