Chiemsee

Around the Chiemsee there are Kilometres of flat swimming beaches, play areas and sun loungers. On a cool day the adventure swimming pool or the Chiemgau Thermen Bad Endorf with its large Sauna area are alternatives.

Cycling in this region is a favourite pastime with the small hills on the edge of the Alps which make it a relaxing trip in natural surroundings. There are different cycling paths and organised tours are available from half day tours to a full weekend tour to suit every ones taste.

The Chiemgau Alps have their own fascination that is unique to this area. The trip to the mountain top with their own mountain railway has unforgettable views over valley and lake. You can make a stop at a hut for a satisfying Bayerish snack and wash it down with a fresh beer or a shandy.

If you are looking for some action we suggest a rafting tour on the Tiroler Achen or a visit to the high rope park in Aschau. Paragliding and ballooning are another option.

If you would prefer a leisurely sail through the Canyon take the boat trip on the river Alz.

Well visited parts of the Chiemsee are the Islands where you will find on the Herreninsel the castle of Koenig Ludwig ll and a visit to the Frauninsel for the fishing villages romantic stroll.

Visits to the villages around the Chiemsee are a must for any holiday maker from the castle ‘Schloss Hoenaschau’ to Celtic settlement or the Car Museum in Amerang.
