Kitz Running Jochberg
The motto, “Life in motion”, was developed together with the Innsbruck agency "max2" and from this a plan for running and Nordic Walking routes were developed for the sports city of Kitzbuehel and brought to fruition. After the successful implementation of the system and the opening of it in Kitzbuehel in 2009, it was taken on by Jochberg in the spring of 2010 to implement the next step of our plan to improve our running and walking infrastructure.
In Jochberg alone there are 8 courses with 3 different starting points, providing a total of 65 kilometres of trails that were opened on the June 4th, 2010 with an opening ceremony.
The key figures since June 2010 are 23 routes with a total of 170 kilometres and 11 different starting points, resulting in a running and Nordic walking paradise that has no equal. The trails in Kitzbuehel, Aurach, Jochberg and Reith invite our guests and local residents to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside covering a variety of terrain: asphalt, gravel and trails running through the mountains and the valleys.
The community of Jochberg and Kitzbuehel Tourism put the project together with the region of Tyrol promoted under the working title "Running Tyrol". The "Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol" was recruited as a partner, with the work on the plan being carried out by the Innsbruck agency, "max2", together with input from the running legend Andreas Tomaselli who specialises in running this type of project.
