Cross-country skiing introduces you to the peaceful side of Kitzbuehel. More than 60 km of groomed trails for classic and skating cross-country enthusiasts are available and offer a very special winter enjoyment.There is an illuminated Snow Sports Trail at the Golfclub Kitzbuehel-Schwarzsee-Reith and a unique altitude track high up at Pass Thurn.

Cross-Country Specials

Trails around Kitzbuehel go to the Wilder Kaiser mountain range, the Brixen Valley and up to Pass Thurn with over 500 km of groomed trails. Most are easy to ski and do not have steep climbs and descents. There are also numerous charming guesthouses in the region to sit back and take a break during your cross-country skiing.

Floodlit and snow covered trails

The Golfclub Kitzbuehel-Schwarzsee-Reith with its snowy and floodlit trails is the specialty of the cross-country flagship Kitzbuehel. Sporting or hobby cross-coutry skiers come from near and far to hone their fitness and technique there. Even the professional local skier David Kreiner (Austria National Team in Nordic Combined) uses the high-class facilities.At the golf club, next to the 7.0-km loop, are also some shorter, but varied versions. From dusk until 21.30hr, 3.3 km of trails are lit up and can be used for evening training. This 3.3-km-variant, with artificial snow, is run in collaboration with the Kitzbuehel Ski Club (KSC) and is therefore extremely snow-secure.

Guaranteed snow covered high trail

The wonderful high trail at Pass Thurn (1.274m above sea level) offers maximum snow. Trails are groomed for skate and classic from December to April. The High Trail Pass Thurn is easily accessible by car or bus.

Guaranteed snow in Aschau bei Kirchberg

A scenic and also snow-sure ski run is Aschau bei Kirchberg (1.020m above sea level). This trail is useable normally from December to April for classic and skating. You can park in front of the Café Hochland..
