Sylvia Kester, a guest of Kitzbühel
On her travel blog hin&weg Sylvia, who came to Kitzbühel with her girls for a ski weekend, wrote a funny and exciting blog post about it, which we do not want to withhold from our readers. After a short consultation, Sylvia allowed us to publish some lines from it here on the Kitzbühel blog. Thank you, Sylvia!
So be curious about Sylvia's tips & stories on how to spend an exciting girls' weekend in Kitzbühel.
Coziness & "Breathless" snored
"We've been looking forward to this for a year - and now it's already over. I was skiing in Kitzbühel with my girls, 7 in total. Everything was perfect again: Weather, snow, food and entertainment." Seven of the friends were accommodated in the Hocheck Hut. It is located directly on the "Streif" and offers inexpensive and cozy accommodation, either in a dormitory or 3, 4 and 6-bed rooms are available. The good thing here is, from the Hocheck Hut you can start skiing right away....
Sylvia Kester was already several times in the Hocheck hut to guest: "Once we had luck and were accommodated in the apartment. You have to cut back on the bathroom and toilet, which are located in the hallway but... we are from the country, does not bother us almost at all 😉 For this, the food is first class. At this point again a praise to the kitchen. If you decide for the Hocheck as accommodation you should consider some things: Riiisikoooo - when booking a room! If you have booked as a solo traveler, it may be that you find yourself, despite booked room, but perhaps in the mass camp - the advantage is, you get from the camp neighbors Helene Fischer `s "Breathless" not sung but snored. That`s life!" - Wonderful!
Skiing and Streif Vertical Up
"In addition to Kitzbühel and its varied ski area, the girls were especially excited about the Vertical Up. This race involves running up the Streif, which is known to have a gradient of up to 85%. Sylvia Kester: "A highlight on Saturday was the "Streif Vertical Up" - run, which took place for the 5th time. 1028 participants started at 6:30 p.m. in the valley at the Hahnenkamm lift to master the 3312 meter long and partly 85% steep Streif with its 860 m altitude difference. With incredible 30 minutes, the first runner arrived at the top. We have also looked at the spectacle, simply incredible what is done there also around it is a lot offered."
Arrival comfortably by train
The friends arrived comfortably by train. The Kitzbühel train station is located directly at the Hahnenkamm lift. So you can change directly from the train to the gondola to get to the hut. Skis can also be rented on site, right at the valley station.
"Kitzbühel is really worth a trip - whether summer or winter. In terms of accommodation, there is something for the small and large purse, when you go shopping in town, of course, you have to pack the slightly larger."
