Elīna Garanča performs in Kitzbühel together with the Zukunftsstimmen

In 2024, Kitzbühel will be particularly characterized by culture. "Classic in the Alps" with opera star Elīna Garanča is taking place for the 11th time. The atmospheric program, an enthusiastic audience and an unmistakable mountain panorama make the evening a special experience for artists and spectators. For many years, Elīna Garanča and Karel Mark Chichon have performed together with young, up-and-coming opera talents at their open-air concerts. It was not uncommon for these appearances to be followed by the start of an international career.

The finalists of the ZukunftsStimmen will perform at Kitzbühel Klassik from July 3rd to 6th, 2024.

The impressive mountains between Hahnenkamm and Kitzbüheler Horn have been the unique backdrop for "Classic in the Alps" for ten years now. The audience of the open-air concert appreciates the special charm of the event. The mix of classical opera arias and well-known international songs has a lot to offer both experienced opera fans and beginners.

Who? Tanja Elisa Glinsner & Clemens Seewald

The Opera Studio of the Vienna Volksoper visits Kitzbühel.

Who? Annina Wachter & Laura Thaller

The influence of Giacomo Puccini, the Italian master of melody and emotion, on the opera world is unmistakable. His works have profoundly shaped the genre and continue to captivate audiences worldwide. In commemoration of his 100th death anniversary, he is being given a special presence in this year's opera program.

Additionally, the 100th birthday of Maria Callas is also being celebrated retrospectively. As one of the most significant sopranos of the 20th century, she has profoundly influenced the opera world with her extraordinary voice and stage presence.
These two outstanding figures in opera history are being properly honored within the program through performances of their works.

Maria Callas was particularly renowned for her interpretations of Giacomo Puccini's operas, and therefore, both icons are being honored with a very special premiere: Elīna Garanča will perform for the first time the moving aria "O ma lyre immortelle" from Gounod's opera "Sapho" in the impressive setting of Kitzbühel.

The music is surprisingly universally compatible, you know it partly from movies and TV. Very well done and the view is a dream. Just for your information: we are not fans of classical music ;)

The concert with Elina Garanca is "a found food", as they like to say here in Vienna, a unique occasion to come back to the beautiful town of Kitzbühel.
