Culture & Tradition
The area around Kitzbuehel is full of scenic beauty. It seems to have it all here, the Creator did his job very well. The wide valley floor of the Kitzbuehel Ache, hill to hill which joins the famous "Wilder Kaiser", shaped the region more than any other mountains in the region. But the peculiarity lies not only in the beauty of the mountains.
Rural landscape dominates the Tirolian mountains
The appearance is manifold: Farms, fences or hay stacks are an important part of people and mountains in this country.
Tip: The Erbhofweg leads you directly to the beautiful farms. Brochures can be purchased at the offices of Kitzbuehel Tourism. In addition to the farm houses, churches and chapels compliment the landscape. In the Baroque period took over the former Gothic buildings or the buildings were made into Baroque.
Many Tyrolean resorts were dominated by their Roman Catholic pontiff. During the 20th Century it has slowed somewhat but this strong bond holds many of the traditions that are still alive today. You will find throughout the year processions are still held and are celebrated together with the church programs to strengthen community on feast days such as Floriani or Corpus Christi.
Kitzbuehel has also been home of many legends such as Toni Sailer or Hansi Hinterseer.
