Our experienced and professional mountain guides will let you in on some of the area’s most beautiful, hidden secrets – natural gems far away from the hustle and bustle.

The guided hiking program is divided into three sections and offer a variety of diverse hikes and themes.

Free hiking programme from Kitzbühel Tourismus

Our experienced mountain guide Christoph, Madeleine and Susi lead you to the most beautiful places in the region.

The free, guided hikes from Kitzbühel Tourismus always take place from Monday to Friday and offer you variations in different difficulty levels.

Registration is not required. Starting point for the daily hikes is always

The most beautiful panoramic & contour line hikes

The Kitzbühel mountains can, but do not have to be discovered on foot. When hiking with lifts, the gondola simply takes over the strenuous part and brings you in no time to the starting points for magnificent panoramic & contour line walks in the local grass mountains.

The KITZ MOUNTAIN GUIDES of Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel offer expert and knowledgeable hikes. Hiking with ascent help as a pleasurable nature experience for the whole family.

A journey with the legendary Hahnenkammbahn cable car is always an experience and the view out over Kitzbühel is one of a kind!

After enjoying a breathtaking and unforgettable view from the start house, check out the famous Mausefalle up close. Afterwards, continue along the easy, well maintained trail to the St. Bernhard Chapel, which was designed by famous Tirolean architect Clemens Holzmeister.

After enjoying the unique panoramic mountain views from the summit, we’ll pay a visit to both the new and old mountain stations of the Bergbahn Kitzbühel cable car company. Next, we’ll take one of the many paths leading down to the picturesque Hornköpfl reservoir, which certainly ranks amongst the area’s most beautiful lakes. We’ll then take a side trip to the pumping station to gain insights into technical snowmaking. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy the fabulous panoramic views along the way to the intermediate station of the Hornbahn cable car, which houses a hidden compressor station. Lastly, we’ll descend back down into the valley with the Hornbahn 1 cable car.

Enjoy magnificent panoramic views following a spectacular ascent to the Kitzbüheler Horn with the Gipfelbahn cable car. The tour then leads through the famous Alpine Flower Garden, an educational repository of the world’s mountain flora. Continue from the Alpenhaus mountain restaurant to the one-of-a-kind Karstweg trail, which provides exciting insights into the area’s geological past.

Get ready for 860 m of pure adrenaline! This hike leads along the original ski racetrack of the legendary Streif. Visitors to the exhibition profit from insider knowledge and exciting television footage: four ultra-modern LCD screens provide a glimpse behind the scenes of the most dangerous downhill race in the world! As a finishing touch to round off the visit, tour the many heroes immortalised at the Legends Park!

This special adventure hike offers a unique opportunity to peek behind the scenes of the Kitzbühel cable car company. Discover the technology that makes winter fun on the slopes possible as you visit the pumping station, snow cannons and snow groomers at the new Streiteck competence centre.
The highlight of the tour is undoubtedly an explanation of the complex inner workings of a cabin gondola.

This utterly delightful hike, offering great views out over Kitzbühel, is ideal for letting your thoughts roam free as you soak in the view.
Proceeding step by step, better get to know the beauty of Alpine pastures like the Lämmerbühel, one of the Gamsstadt’s most scenic!

This panoramic high-altitude hike provides grandiose views of the surrounding mountains as you pass by crystal-clear mountain lakes. Linger, rest, refresh and recharge your batteries!

During this exciting hike, delve into the history of the Hahnenkamm races and listen to insider stories about famous places and personalities such as Alfons Walde, Sonnbühel, Hotel Ehrenbachhöhe, the Streif start house & more. In addition, explore quiet paths that lead to historically interesting places connected to this world-famous location.

Kitzbüheler Hiking guides

Designed for particularly sporty participants, this year the Kitzbühel mountain guides will offer climbing in addition to more challenging Alpine hikes.

 

Participants should register with the Kitzbühel Tourismus information office. Cost is around €50 per person upon presentation of a guest card.
No minimum number of participants. Max. number of participants: 6.

 

 

This tour takes place beneath the impressive walls of the Wilder Kaiser. Participants receive instruction regarding the right techniques for via ferrata as well as easy rock-climbing routes.
Duration: 8 hours | Elevation gain: 790 m
Meeting point: Koasa Boulder, St. Johann in Tirol, 9:00 am

 

Via ferrata participants can expect a feeling of freedom along with rocky terrain, steep climbs, exposed ridges and unique views. In the secure hands of a state-certified mountain guide, ascending the Horn via ferrata is a safe experience.
Duration: 5 hours | Elevation gain: 470 m
Meeting point: Kitzbüheler Horn valley station, 09:00 am

 

Experience an unforgettable sunrise at one of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range’s most beautiful panoramic peaks.
Duration: 9 hours | Elevation gain: 1200 m
Meeting point: Koasa Boulder, St. Johann in Tirol, start dependant upon sunrise

 

This varied and sporty mountain tour starts out via e-bike from the Jochberg and then continues on foot. After a steep ascent and a narrow ridge, fantastic panoramic views can be enjoyed from the summit.
Duration: 6 hours | Elevation gain: 1,000 m. by bike – 400 m of vertical ascent
Meeting point: Skiladl Jochberg, 9:00 am

 

With a Kitzbühel mountain guide at your side, stand atop one of the mighty peaks of the Wilder Kaiser. Depending upon the weather and participants, your mountain guide will select the best peak to ascend.
Duration: 8 hours | Elevation gain: 1400 m
Meeting point: Koasa Boulder, St. Johann in Tirol, 08:00 am

 

Ever wanted to cut clear across the Kitzbühel Südberge mountains? If so, this is a tour you won’t soon forget. It’s particularly suited to those who love celebrating at the summit!
Duration: 6 hours | Elevation gain: 700 m uphill and 1200 m downhill
Meeting point: Valley station of the Bichlalm lift, Kitzbühel, 9:00 am
