Mountain Biking in Kitzbühel
The mountain bike has established itself as a traditional piece of sports equipment in Kitzbühel. The gentle landscape of the Kitzbühel Alps, with its numerous forests and secluded alpine trails, is tailor- made for this sport. Throughout the area, there are over than 800 kilometres of trails with varying degrees of difficulty and you can plan your routes with the KitzAlpBike-cycling map.
Mountain biking is not only enjoyed by our guests, but also by the locals and routes are available to suit all levels. Overall, there are over 800 kilometres of cycling and mountain biking trails available. When it is time for a break or some refreshments are required, there are numerous mountain huts and restaurants ready to welcome you.
The mountain bike festival, “KitzAlpBike”, has been held every year since 1996 and the mountains around Kitzbühel provide a stunning backdrop to the variety of competitions. As always, the highlight of the weekend is the KitzAlpBike Marathon on the Sunday and more than 1,000 mountain bikers make their annual journey here for this weekend of competition in the Kitzbühel Alps.
Given its relationship with the Mountain bike, Kitzbühel was chosen as the starting point for the Bike Trail Tirol. With almost 1000 km of trails, the Bike Trail Tirol is regarded as the longest contiguous mountain bike course in the Alps and there are 32 different stages where you can discover the region of Tirol, Mountain biking and the country as a whole, at their best.
