Description

The “Horn” is legendary. With gradients of up to 22.3%, it is Austria’s steepest mountain for cyclists.
From Kitzbühel town centre, ride onto Römerweg, where you can take a break at the Farmhouse Museum. After the “Höglern” farm, turn onto Panoramastraße Kitzbüheler Horn. The original starting line of the Kitzbüheler Horn’s mountain cycling races will soon come into view. You are now facing Austria’s steepest mountain for cyclists, climbing 876 m over 7.1 km. Although the first “ramps” are after the tollbooth, the key section starts at the Goinger Alm, with over 1 km of continuous ascent with gradients ranging from 16 to 22.3% before flattening out somewhat for the last few of the 18 hairpin bends in all. The destination is the Alpenhaus mountain hut (1,670 m) on the Kitzbüheler Horn.
