Nordic Walking Routes
You will find some of the best Nordic Walking Routes by the Schwarzsee, or in Jochberg. You can always make use of some of the cleared and marked trails:
Bichlach: The moor land behind the Schwarzsee has some gentle hills, and offers the ideal conditions to begin Nordic Walking.
- Jochberg: Nordic Fitness Sports Park offers the Askara Rude, a 5.1 km (easy) route and the Perlberg-Runde, an 8.3 km (intermediate) route.
At the beginning, a few hours of training are recommended to learn the technical movements of Nordic Skiing and to test your fitness.
For a simple winter sport that provides a large amount of enjoyment you must experience ice skating on the natural ice lake Schwarzsee as well as curling. In Curling you use a small black target cube, called a Rabbit. When curling you use the broom to regulate speed, and you can feel like one of the local experts. Natural Ice Lake at the Schwarzsee
For skaters, Kitzbuehel offers an open-air ice rink at the Schwarzsee. The frozen lake rink has excellent conditions for elegant skating or sporty, “Fritterer” style hairpins. The Schwarzsee is deal for those who like to exercise in the open and the course around the lake is well prepared. The ice thickness is thoroughly examined at regular intervals and when the ice is not thick enough the lake unfortunately has to be closed for safety.
Ice Skating at the Mercedes-Benz Sportpark Kitzbuehel
Ice skating is a fascinating traditional winter sport that has enjoyed a renaissance in recent years. The indoor facilities at the sports park are highly entertaining, offer good skating accompanied by music and are suitable for all ages.
Curling at the Mercedes-Benz Sportpark Kitzbuehel
This type of curling can be fun, for physical exercise and for social entertainment. The idea is that the community is brought together, not only during the games but also for a social gathering, after the competitions.
Curling in Aurach
Excellent conditions for curling are available in Aurach with two tournament rinks in the curling hall behind Café Neumayr. Rental stocks are available
Curling in Jochberg
The Eisstock hall in Jochberg is now undercover.
The toboggan run at the Gaisberg in Kirchberg is the only mountain side course in the area and thanks to floodlighting it is fully operational at night. Providing you are not exhausted by your daily exercises, it is a great idea to come and try the illuminated tobogganing track. The 4-seater chairlift at the Gaisberg transports you to the top of the course with ease and the energy saved and enjoyment you experience will inspire you to make multiple runs. Afterwards you can unwind and relax in the friendly mountain huts that, even during the night, serve tasty meals and delicacies to the guests.
There are a wide range of popular venues for cardio training and weight reduction exercises in Kitzbuehel and the surrounding areas. Many offer with special exercises such back gymnastics, aerobics or power plate. They can also offer advice on issues such as nutrition, vital system, fitness for the over 50’s and anti-aging treatments. They will gladly advise you during your visit.

Treat yourself to some time in the pool in the wellness and health centre in the heart of Kitzbuehel. Exercise like a fish in water in the swimming pool complex, relax and unwind in the sauna, or be pampered from head to toe in the spa.
The Heilmoorkur, is a unique treatment service with the herb peat from the Kitzbuehel Lutzenberg bog. Enjoy the physio - thermal fit health cabins that are included in the ticket entry price! There is an infrared sauna located in the sports pool area and two others can be found in the sauna area.
