KIDS2GOLF Week in Kitzbühel
What happened behind the scenes
For a tournament of this calibre, the fairways, greens and teeing areas had to meet the highest professional standards. The Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith golf course was therefore comprehensively optimised in terms of layout, maintenance and playability to meet the demands of the Tour and the players.
Thanks to these measures, the Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith golf course now fulfils all the requirements of a top-level tournament venue – impressing both in sporting terms and through its stunning visual design.
Hosting the tournament in SalzburgerLand and Kitzbühel – Tyrol is a milestone for professional golf in Austria and strengthens the Alpine region’s position as an attractive year-round destination in the long term. Golf fans can look forward to top-class competitions against an impressive mountain backdrop – a sporting and tourist event of international stature.
These have been carefully integrated into the existing layout without altering the character of the course:
- Hole 1
- Hole 4 – the previous par 4 was redesigned as a par 3 for the Tour
- Hole 5
- Hole 6
- Hole 8
- Hole 13
- Holes 14 & 17 – shared double tee, based on the previous white tee on hole 17
To further enhance the course’s sporting character, additional bunker areas have been created on selected fairways:
- Hole 3
- Hole 5
- Hole 12
- Hole 15
A new chipping green, complete with a practice bunker, has now been added to the training facilities.
With a tee area of around 1,000 square metres and a length of almost 400 metres, the temporary driving range is one of the longest training facilities on the tour. Set against the impressive backdrop of the Wilder Kaiser, it offers ideal conditions for professional training and an exceptional golfing experience.
