Modern gondola and chairlifts, along with adapted boarding solutions, allow monoskiers to use the facilities largely independently—and thus enjoy a free, self-determined mountain experience throughout the entire ski area.

In the summer, this is a popular spot for families, featuring the Streif Starthaus, a path that’s easy to navigate with a buggy, and the Streif Summer Experience. In the winter, the beginner’s area, with its two magic carpets, offers a gentle start to the day on the slopes.

A winter favorite with accessible gondola access to the heart of the large family-friendly ski area. Dining options and restrooms are located at the top station. In summer, it’s an ideal starting point for the Sonnenrast Trails for families.

With a special children’s area in winter and a climbing trail, alpine flower garden, and karst trail in summer—ideal for families who want to explore the mountains together at a leisurely pace.

In the valley, well-maintained paths, short distances, and easy access offer plenty of space for families with small children or pushchairs. Whether it’s a walk, a play break, or some gentle exercise—everything can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace.

The historic town center is ideal for leisurely strolls. In winter, the Christmas market invites you to linger; in summer, cafés, restaurants, and the town park - all easily accessible and family-friendly.

Public, accessible toilets are located on Obere Gränsbachgasse, Pfarrau Straße, Kitz Gallera, and at the bottom station of the Hahnenkammbahn (KitzSki). 

A particularly accessible destination in the summer: reachable by train, bus, bike path, or car. Wide, flat paths, dining options, and swimming areas make Schwarzsee ideal for families. Schwarzsee also has public toilets.

The forests and marshes of Bichlach are perfect for peaceful family walks, short bike rides, or moments of relaxation in nature. The paths are wide, mostly gravel, and well-suited for pushchairs.

In winter, two freely accessible practice areas are available: the Mocking and Rasmusleiten slopes. In addition, there are children’s practice lifts in Reith and the Hausleitenlift in Jochberg—all of which offer easy access for families.

In summer, the Mocking Skill Area behind the Hahnenkamm bottom station and the Fleckalm Skill Area at the Fleckalmbahn bottom station offer free and easily accessible practice areas for children and families on bikes.
