Kelchalm | Bochumer Hütte

The historic miners' house 'Kelchalpe', surrounded by old tunnel entrances and ruins from copper mining, is today a rustic DAV hut renovated according to 'Klima aktiv' standards and serves as a starting point for beautiful family hikes and ski tours in the Kitzbüheler Alpen in both summer and winter. On the sunny terrace or by the cozy tiled stove, you can enjoy peace and relaxation and let yourself be pampered with homemade Tyrolean dishes, refined with wild herbs from the alpine meadows.

Beautiful birthday parties or barbecue evenings with a campfire can be organized upon request. Groups and corporate events are also possible, mountain & hiking guides can be arranged and sleds can be rented for the 5 km long natural toboggan run.

Arrival: from Kitzbühel through Aurach, turn off at Gasthaus Hechenmoos and follow the signs.
Ascent: from the summer parking lot approx. 20-30 min on foot. In winter via the natural toboggan run approx. 1-1.5h.
Tours: from easy: Laub-/Saalkogel, Rauber, to demanding: ridge hike Schütz - Gamshag or Tristkogelklettersteig (C/D)
Mountain bike: from the Kapelle parking lot, approx. 40min, medium difficulty
Ski & snowshoe tours: Attention! Powder snow ;-)
Overnight stay: approx. 60 beds in heated double rooms and dormitory rooms, shower.
