Kitzbühel offers the perfect conditions for cross-country skiing with 70km of perfectly groomed snow-covered trails.
From trails in beautiful open meadows to trails high in the Tyrolean mountains, the use of trails is free for all Kitzbühel guests.
Whether you are a professional or a beginner, have a preference for classic or skate-style cross-country skiing, Kitzbühel's ideal conditions offer something for all skill levels. For connoisseurs, cross-country skiing in the Gamsstadt is a breathtaking natural experience.
Tip: The cross-country trail at the Kitzbühel Schwarzsee-Reith golf course is floodlit daily until 9:30 p.m. The trails remain open until Sunday, March 12th, weather-dependent.
Beginner to advanced training sessions are led by Ing. David Hechl, a certified cross-country skiing instructor and former national team trainer. Individual lessons, technique training, and race preparations are available upon request.
Choosing between skating and classic techniques?
For beginners, I typically recommend the classic technique, as it provides a quicker sense of achievement. The natural movement and track stability facilitate speed and pulse control. Skating, on the other hand, is preferred by more athletic individuals, offering faster and more challenging movements requiring balance and employing a more modern technique.
Meeting Point: Car park at the entrance to the cross-country ski trail, Kitzbühel Golf Course Schwarzsee Reith.
