255 | Kitzbüheler Horn

The starting point is the Gasthof Vordergrub in Kitzbühel. From here, the toll road leads to the Alpenhaus Kitzbüheler Horn. A paved path leads curvingly up the mountain, past a small piece of forest, past the toll booth as well as meadows and alpine pastures. The only thing that invites you to stop is the view of the breathtaking nature. Turn by turn, we get a view of Kitzbühel and the surrounding holiday villages as well as the view over the peaks of the Kitzbühel mountains. After the KitzSki building, we leave the tarmac road and a gravelled path leads off to the right to the reservoir. Arriving at the Hornköpfl terminus, the view rewards the effort. From here, a small, enjoyable snack or refreshment can be taken in the Hörnköpflhütte or in the Alpenhaus at the Kitzbüheler Horn. Another alternative is a visit to the wonderful Alpine Flower Garden. As a downhill option, there is the route via the Oberraintalalm to the Unterraintalalm and via the Reisebergweg to St. Johann.
