Around 10,000 members from more than 40 countries share a special connection with Kitzbühel.
Visitors from all over the world spend their holidays in the Kitzbühel region. For many of them, their relationship with the Gamsstadt goes far beyond a single vacation: they have been returning regularly for decades — often several times a year — and now travel together with their children and grandchildren. Over time, guests have become friends and ambassadors of the region.
Recognizing this extraordinary bond, Kitzbühel’s tourism pioneers founded the 1st International Loyal Guests Club Kitzbühel in 1976 — a concept that remains unique in this form to this day.
50 Years of Lasting Loyalty
From 10 to 12 July 2026, the club celebrated its 50th anniversary with a diverse jubilee programme. To mark the occasion, a special anniversary logo was also created.
The celebrations began with the unveiling of an oversized Regular Guests Honorary Pin in the Legends Park. The artwork rests on a distinctive red Hahnenkamm stone and was created by Kitzbühel blacksmith and artist Heinz Sohler.
More than 150 Kitzbühel ambassadors from numerous countries gathered that weekend at the newly renovated clubhouse at Golf Club Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith. During the General Assembly, which takes place every two years, a new Executive Board was elected.
Among those attending were regular guests from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, France, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, and Finland, ranging in age from 10 to 96 years. One particularly dedicated participant even travelled all the way from London by motorcycle to attend the annual gathering.
The anniversary weekend was rounded off with a guided tour of Kitzbühel’s historic town centre, a round of golf, and an excursion to the Schwarzsee moorland nature reserve.
“The longstanding loyalty and close connection of our guests from around the world fill us with great gratitude. As passionate ambassadors of our region, they share their enthusiasm for Kitzbühel far beyond our borders, tell others about their favourite place, and continue to inspire new visitors to discover our destination,” says Dr. Viktoria Veider-Walser, CEO of Kitzbühel Tourism.
Unique in Austria
Today, the International Regular Guests Club Kitzbühel has around 10,000 members from more than 40 countries. Since its foundation, it has operated as an independent association with its own statutes and protected values — making it unique in Austria.
The Executive Board and Committee are elected every two years. Official ceremonies honouring long-standing loyal guests take place throughout the year during weekly award presentations.
Once a year, the members — affectionately known as Kitzbühel Ambassadors — gather in the region to celebrate their connection with Kitzbühel, strengthen longstanding friendships, and establish new ones.
This close relationship with the destination creates an exceptional sense of belonging that extends far beyond national borders. The enthusiasm of the regular guests makes them authentic ambassadors for Kitzbühel and plays a significant role in inspiring future generations and new visitors to discover the Gamsstadt.
