The snow crunches underfoot, the breath is clearly visible in the cold winter air. And it is also visibly faster, the breath, because it is quite strenuous to walk to the Kelchalm. It is almost 4 km uphill and over numerous curves and hairpin bends in about 1.5 hours to master. But the first reward follows immediately after arrival at the Kelchalm, in the Bochumer Hütte. At the warming tiled stove we enjoy a hot mulled wine and something hearty to eat.
Well strengthened and warmed up, we then get the second reward for the somewhat strenuous but very beautiful ascent. The rapid descent with the toboggan. And it is really great, in this ancient way, only 2 runners, with the butt directly above the snow floor and with quite a remarkable speed. Only one thing clouds the tobogganing pleasure: that the descent is over far too quickly.
