Toni Sailer Sunday's child

Toni Sailer became a legend as the Black Lightning of Kitz. His sporting career ran parallel to Austria's reconstruction after the Second World War. While the State Treaty of 1955 brought freedom to Austria, Sailer's Olympic gold medals gave the country a national hero.

About a year and a half before his death, he began working on this book with sports journalist Sigi Bergmann, but he did not live to see its completion: Toni Sailer died on August 24, 2009, at the age of 74.
