The exceptional infrastructure and wide range of offerings in the Kitzbühel ski area has gained international recognition.

In 2023, Kitzbühel proudly claimed the title of "World's Best Ski Resort" for the 11th time, with its reputation as Austria's top ski destination further solidified. This achievement is attributed to the consistent infrastructure investments by the Kitzbühel lift company, known as "KitzSki", ensuring Kitzbühel remains at the pinnacle of Austria's ski resorts.

We offer 233km of beautiful slopes, excellent snow security, provided by KitzSki's sustainably operated snow-making network, and 58 cable cars and ski lifts. The great freeskiing opportunities are matched only by the world-famous Streif in the “World's Best Ski Resort”.

The Myth of the Streif.

One word, one legend: The Streif. It’s the most demanding descent in the world, where the very best skiers battle for each hundredth of a second in the legendary Hahnenkamm Races in January.

You can conquer The Steif yourself. But be careful, to follow in the footsteps of the world's best downhill skiers, you need some skills!

The key points on the Streif are the Mausefalle (Mouse Trap) a huge 80m jump, the Steilhang (Steep Section) with 62% gradient, and the Hausbergkante (a final off-camber jump) with a 69% gradient, are marked as "extreme" for advanced skiers.

If that's all a bit much and you simply ski for pleasure, there's a family friendly version called Familienstreif. You can have all the fun without the danger of the full-fat version, and still pretend you are a Wold Cup athlete! Beginners can have a go at the Mini-Streif, a skill course at the foot of the Hahnenkamm ski run.

Another highlight of the Kitzbühel ski area is the legendary “Ganslernhang." This is also a race track where the worlds best slalom skiers arc perfect turns competing as part of the World Cup. For the rest of us mere mortals, we simply try to emulate the masters, stay upright and tell our friends the stories later!!

The kicker line for advanced skiers and snowboarders is perfect for trying out your new freestyle tricks.

The free practice lifts in the valley are a unique highlight available to all beginners. Ski rental is available across the whole of the Kitzbühel area.
