The route leads from the hiking information point, past the Hahnenkammbahn gondola towards the Streif downhill ski race course and the
Ganslernalm mountain hut until it reaches the historic Pulverturm building. The trail then leads down through a wooded area to the Schwarzsee lake, which is one of the warmest marshland lakes in the Alps. From there, it continues past the Lutzenbergwald nature reserve to Schloss Münichau hotel before passing the Gieringer Weiher und Vogelsberger Weiher lakes and cutting through a small wooded area up to the Steuerberg, where you get an awe-inspiring 360° view. The path leads down from there to the Hausertal valley and then up past Achrainhof farm to the Lebenbergkopf. Finally, it continues along the Lebenbergweg trail, past the castle of the same name and back to Kitzbühel, where magnificent panoramic views overlook the town, the magnificent church towers and the lovely Südberge mountains. From there, it is an easy walk back to the picturesque town centre.
