25 to 31 May 2026
Following its successful debut in 2025 at Golfclub Gut Altentann – which attracted more than 18,000 visitors and was broadcast live worldwide – the Austrian Alpine Open will take place from 25 to 31 May 2026 at the Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith golf course.
With four courses in the town itself and a further twelve in the surrounding area, Kitzbühel is one of the leading golf destinations in the Alpine region. Targeted investments in the course, driving range and infrastructure are ensuring the region is fully prepared to host an event of the highest calibre.
The DP World Tour – formerly the European Tour – will return to Austria in 2025. As one of the world’s most prestigious professional golf series, it features 42 tournaments across more than 26 countries and is regarded as a stepping stone to the PGA Tour. The newly established Austrian Alpine Open will be held alternately at Gut Altentann and Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith from 2025 to 2028. Following the successful debut, Kitzbühel Tourism is delighted to host the second edition in 2026.
Golf is often considered a niche sport – yet both its economic impact and reach are undeniable. The European golf market counts around 16 million players, and during the tournament week alone, the Kitzbühel region expects approximately 36,000 overnight stays.
Equally impressive is the tournament infrastructure: no fewer than 16 trucks are required solely for the live broadcasts, which will be transmitted daily from the “Gamsstadt” to more than 160 countries, reaching a global audience of millions.

For a tournament of this calibre, fairways, greens and tee boxes must meet the highest professional standards. The Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith golf course is therefore being optimised in terms of layout, maintenance and playability to meet the expectations of both the Tour and its players.
