25 to 31 May 2026
Following its successful debut in 2025 at Golfclub Gut Altentann – which attracted more than 18,000 visitors and was broadcast live worldwide – the Austrian Alpine Open will take place from 25 to 31 May 2026 at the Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith golf course.
With four courses in the town itself and a further twelve in the surrounding area, Kitzbühel is one of the leading golf destinations in the Alpine region. Targeted investments in the course, driving range and infrastructure are ensuring the region is fully prepared to host an event of the highest calibre.
The DP World Tour – formerly the European Tour – will return to Austria in 2025. As one of the world’s most prestigious professional golf series, it features 42 tournaments across more than 26 countries and is regarded as a stepping stone to the PGA Tour. The newly established Austrian Alpine Open will be held alternately at Gut Altentann and Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith from 2025 to 2028. Following the successful debut, Kitzbühel Tourism is delighted to host the second edition in 2026.
Golf is often considered a niche sport – yet both its economic impact and reach are undeniable. The European golf market counts around 16 million players, and during the tournament week alone, the Kitzbühel region expects approximately 36,000 overnight stays.
Equally impressive is the tournament infrastructure: no fewer than 16 trucks are required solely for the live broadcasts, which will be transmitted daily from the “Gamsstadt” to more than 160 countries, reaching a global audience of millions.

For a tournament of this calibre, fairways, greens, and teeing areas needed to meet the highest professional standards. The course at Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith has therefore been comprehensively refined in terms of layout, maintenance, and playability to fully meet the expectations of the tour and its players.
These have been carefully integrated into the existing course design without altering its character:
⛳ Hole 1
⛳ Hole 4 – the former par 4 has been reconfigured as a par 3 for the tour
⛳ Hole 5
⛳ Hole 6
⛳ Hole 8
⛳ Hole 13
⛳ Holes 14 & 17 – a shared double tee, based on the previous white tee of hole 17
To further enhance the sporting challenge of the course, additional bunker areas have been introduced on selected fairways:
⛳ Hole 3
⛳ Hole 5
⛳ Hole 12
⛳ Hole 15
A new chipping green, complete with practice bunker, has been added to the training area.
With these improvements, the Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith course now meets all the requirements of a top-level tournament venue – excelling both in terms of sporting challenge and striking visual appeal.
Tradition, variety and an unparalleled Alpine panorama: the 18-hole Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith Golf Course brings together everything golfers could wish for. The final six holes, with their clever design, demand full concentration and skill. On several occasions, this course has also hosted prestigious international tournaments.
In short: diverse fairways, challenging water hazards and breathtaking views of the Tyrolean Alps make Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith a true highlight for every golfer.
The Eichenheim Golf Course is regarded as one of the most impressive in Austria. Nestled between the Wilder Kaiser and the Hohe Tauern ranges, this 18-hole, par-71 course offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Striking rock faces and dense woodlands shape the 6,092-metre layout, designed in 2001 by American architect Kyle Phillips. Its particular strength lies in the variety it offers and the way it blends seamlessly into the natural landscape.
Directly adjoining the course, the Grand Tirolia Hotel Kitzbühel combines contemporary elegance with traditional Alpine character, ensuring a stay of the highest comfort.
After around 50 years of club history, the 9-hole course on the grounds of Schloss Kaps was reopened in 2006 and has since shone in new splendour. Its exclusive location on the sunny side of Kitzbühel and a series of sporting successes have made the course one of the most prestigious golf venues in Austria.
Just a few minutes from the town centre, golfers are welcomed by a varied 9-hole layout. The spectacular finishing holes are a particular highlight: hole 8 with its island green and hole 9 with its peninsula green in the castle park promise pure excitement – a place where triumphs can be achieved, or dreams dashed by the water.
Right in the heart of Kitzbühel, in the finish area of the legendary Streif downhill course, lies the 9-hole Red Bull Golf at Rasmushof. Compact yet challenging – that’s the best way to describe this course. It caters equally well to advanced players and beginners. The first four holes wind through hilly terrain before holes 5 and 6 take you up onto the Streif itself. The reward: an unrivalled view over Kitzbühel’s historic town centre.
After your round, the spacious sun terrace invites you to relax and savour delicious Tyrolean specialities – the perfect way to round off a day of golf.
