The Most Famous Ski Race in the World

The Streif – the most famous racecourse in the world – is a must-visit for anyone coming to Kitzbühel. Each year, the world’s top skiers compete for victory on the most demanding downhill track of the Ski World Cup. The thrilling combination of steep slopes, spectacular jumps, and high speeds makes the Streif a legendary challenge. For visitors, it’s an unforgettable experience to see the starting area at the Hahnenkamm or get up close to key sections like the Mausefalle and the Hausbergkante.

Ski Safari and Lunch with a View

Embark on a ski safari across the entire KitzSki area, where the fun of skiing together meets the adventure of trying new slopes. Starting in Kitzbühel, glide through 233 kilometers of groomed pistes, taking in the mountain views as you head toward Pass Thurn. Along the way, share memorable moments and try the traditional food at cozy mountain huts, perfect for well-deserved breaks.

For the full adventure, you’ll need to be at least a red-level skier. Not there yet? Try the mini version from the Hahnenkamm to the Steinbergkogel on blue runs and experience the best of the Alps.

Try a New Winter Sport

Discover Kitzbühel’s diverse winter world beyond the ski slopes and try out exciting alternatives. How about a round of curling to put your skills to the test? Or glide gracefully across the ice at one of our idyllic skating rinks.

Those who prefer something more athletic will find both a challenge and breathtaking views on the numerous cross-country ski trails. Whether you’re an experienced adventurer or a curious newcomer, Kitzbühel offers the chance to try something new or enjoy your old favorites.

A visit to the Aurach Wildlife Park

The Aurach Wildlife Park is a truly beautiful piece of nature above the small village of Aurach. Lovingly tended for several generations by the Pletzer family, the largest wild animal outdoor enclosure in Tyrol impresses with over 350 animals. From red deer to yaks and kangaroos - a wide range of animal species have found a home here. New fluffy friends can be found in the petting stall. Delicious delicacies and a good cup of coffee in the Brandnerhofstube round off the excursion.

The game park is open to visitors in summer as well as in winter, the entrance fee is EUR 9.50 for adults and EUR 6.00 for children. If you do not have your own car, you can use the game park transfer from the Hahnenkamm parking lot.

Find your oasis

In the midst of the Tyrolean mountains, Kitzbühel offers you numerous places of rest and relaxation. Sit back and treat yourself to a day of unforgettable downtime with feel-good saunas, panoramic swimming pools, steam baths and massages. In our exclusive wellness hotels - many with day spa option - you will find all the ingredients for your very own Me Time.

Early morning sport at the Schwarzsee

Early morning exercise helps to get the circulation going and wakes up the body. Those who complete their morning training session at Schwarzsee automatically get the good mood along with it. When the first rays of sunlight emerge from behind the Kitzbüheler Horn, the nature reserve is still wonderfully quiet. Due to the fresh temperatures, the morning fog still wafts over the warmest moor lake in the Alps in the morning and immerses the scenery in a mystical atmosphere.

A dreamlike circular path of about two and a half kilometers leads once around the lake and is suitable for a morning walk as well as for a sporty jogging round. For those who want to move a bit more, there is a beautiful forestry trail on the eastern shore. A dip in the cool water rounds off the perfect morning routine.

Dive in the forest

Simply close your eyes, explore the surroundings with an alert mind and immerse yourself in the forest with all your senses. Forest bathing is considered a natural healing method in Japan and is the ideal way to recharge one's energy reserves. Almost half of Kitzbühel is covered with forests - from spruces to pines and firs, there are numerous native trees in the immediate vicinity. The magical atmosphere, the strong power of the old trees, the gentle breeze through the branches and the subdued light invigorate and decelerate the mind at the same time.

A long walk through Kitzbühel's forests works wonders against stress. Let the balanced tranquility and sincere unagitatedness of nature take hold of you, and indulge in the luxury of being out of reach while bathing. A vacation experience cannot be more relaxing.

An animal adventure

There is more than one good reason to take a hike with alpacas - not the least of which is exercising all 135 of your laughing muscles! From May to October you can create an unforgettable experience out of the time spent together with friends, family and partner. The fuzzy ones, as the alpacas are also called, stand in stark contrast to the credo "Higher, Faster, Further", because without patience, calmness and trust you will not reach your goal here.

The alpaca walk at the Kitzbüheler Horn costs EUR 40.00 for two or more people, each additional person EUR 15.00 and children up to 14 years pay EUR 8.00

History & culture in Kitzbühel

Although the town has become known worldwide as a lifestyle hotspot and as the venue for the spectacular Hahnenkamm race, ultimately this is only a comparatively short period in the town's 750-year history. Kitzbühel was and is a lively, diverse, exciting, ever-changing place - and some of these facets can be admired in the Kitzbühel Museum. A very special insider tip is the museum's roof terrace: from up there you have a fantastic view over the roofs of the town. The newly opened KC750 Kultur Café Kitzbühel is not only an excellent place to go for drinks & snacks after a visit to the museum - small concerts, readings and poetry slams also take place here.
