The DP World Tour – formerly the European Tour – will be back in Austria in 2025. As one of the world's most important professional golf series, it comprises 42 tournaments in over 26 countries and is considered a springboard to the PGA Tour. The new Austrian Alpine Open will be held from 2025 to 2028, alternating between Gut Altentann and Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith. Following the successful launch, Kitzbühel Tourism is delighted to be hosting the second edition in 2026. Golf is often considered a niche sport – but its added value and reach speak for themselves. The European golf market comprises a total of around 16 million players, and around 36,000 overnight stays are expected in the Kitzbühel region during the tournament week alone. The tour entourage is also remarkable – 16 trucks are delivered for the live broadcasts alone, which report daily from the Gamsstadt to over 160 countries, reaching an audience of millions.
