Run to the Kitzbüheler Horn

The starting signal is always at 9:30 AM in the city center of Kitzbühel. To "warm up", there is a 3.5 km long cut-off section (Römerweg). The elite (actually ALL participants!) are already ruthless with their pace here. At the foot of the Horn, the run deviates onto the Panorama/Mautstrasse. This road is challenging: 1234 meters of elevation over the remaining 9.4 km. No flat sections anymore, but inclines of up to 25%. The route leads through countless hairpin turns, past the Alpine house, all the way to the summit house, and even further to the summit / television transmitter at 1996 meters.
