Event
The first, securely dated photograph of Kitzbühel was taken around 1875. 150 years later, the photographic glass plates and paper prints in the archives of the town of Kitzbühel are the documents of a technology that was economically marginalised. The flood of images in the 21st century is digital. Pixel-perfect and Instagram-ready. In five short chapters, the exhibition combines sideways glances at the history of photography in Kitzbühel with a documentation of the work of Markus Korn, Gernot Lazzari and Markus Mitterer. Their photographs bear witness to a media revolution and tell of the transformation of the photographic craft over the last 50 years.
