World Extreme Run Challenge

WERC stands for ‘World Extreme Lauf Challenge’ and is the brainchild of extreme sportsman and coach Josef ‘Sepp’ Resnik and his board members from the non-profit organisation ‘sports4everybody’ - all of whom are sports enthusiasts - in 2021. Starting from the start/finish arch in Kitzbühel's Vorderstadt, the route leads through the town centre, then through the Legends Park up to the Hahnenkamm cable car. From there, you run uphill on the Hahnenkamm road to the Oberhausweg at the level of the Streif finish jump. From there, the ascent to the inclined run below the Hausberg takes you into the original route of the famous Kitzbühel downhill run on the Streif.
There will be an exclusive book presentation by international football expert Heinz Palme with his book ‘Des Kaisers General’ in the ‘Phönix am Hornplatzl’ at 7 pm on FRIDAY as part of the opening. There will also be an after-race party at the Phönix on SATURDAY evening as part of the local Oktoberfest.
