A sporting highlight is on the horizon: from 5 to 7 September 2025, the Kitzbühel Tennis Stadium will celebrate its premiere as the venue for the Austrian Beach Volleyball Championships. This will put Kitzbühel firmly on the Austrian sporting and events map in late summer.
For the first time, the final of the win2day Beach Volleyball Tour PRO 2025 will take place in Kitzbühel – in an extraordinary setting that combines alpine lifestyle with summer vibes. Austria's best beach volleyball teams will meet for a sporting showdown in the midst of the Tyrolean mountains. It is the grand finale of a tour that focuses on top performance, emotion and team spirit – embedded in Kitzbühel's legendary hospitality and event expertise.
"Following the first international beach volleyball tournament in Kitzbühel in the 1990s, we are delighted that the Austrian Beach Volleyball Championships will be held at the Kitzbühel Tennis Stadium at the beginning of September. This sporting event contributes both to the Kitzbühel brand as the most legendary sports town in the Alps and to the Outdoor Active success model as part of our vision for the future #wirsindKitzbühel," says Kitzbühel Tourism Managing Director Dr. Viktoria Veider-Walser.
TIP | Next Generation goes free
The organiser and Kitzbühel Tourism are keen to get children and young people from the Kitzbühel region excited about beach volleyball. As a free programme item at the end of the holidays, all children, school pupils and apprentices from Kitzbühel, Reith, Aurach and Jochberg can attend the event free of charge – advance registration is required.
High-calibre programme
On Thursday, 4 September 2025, companies will compete in the KitzBeach Business Cup powered by START.N Kitzbühel. Teams of 3 to 5 players can still register for this event.
From Friday to Sunday, Austria's best athletes will compete for the coveted national beach volleyball championship title. In addition to exciting matches between Austria's best beach volleyball teams, a varied supporting programme will ensure plenty of excitement: beach training sessions at Schwarzsee, free sundowner parties at the Quellenhaus next to the stadium and after-parties at Club Take Five.
The athletes who competed in the Beach Volleyball European Championships in Düsseldorf last week are also eagerly awaited: Dorina and Ronja Klinger from Carinthia, Timo Hammarberg and Tim Berger from Lower Austria and Vienna, and Christoph Dressler and Philipp Waller from Styria and Upper Austria.
Inclusion & community: Sport brings people together
Beach. Gams. Gross. stands for the connection between nature, sport and Tyrolean charm. Everyone is welcome – locals, second home owners, national and international guests – with the aim of building a cultural bridge between Kitzbühel's traditional image and modern sports.
KitzBeach is setting a special example with the parallel staging of the Austrian National Championships in Deaf Beach Volleyball (ÖGSV) – an inclusive sports festival in the best sense of the word.
