The winners of the ‘World Ski Awards’, which took place for the twelfth time this year, were announced on Monday, 11 November 2024.After Kitzbühel had already won the coveted title in previous years, the region was once again honoured as ‘Austria's Best Ski Resort’ this year.
World Ski Awards
The World Ski Awards are the only global initiative that recognises excellence in the ski tourism industry and aims to improve current standards. Since its foundation in 2013, the sister organisation of the World Travel Awards has been honouring the best companies and regions in the winter sports industry on a national and international level every year. The numerous categories range from infrastructure providers as ‘World's Best Ski Resort Company’ to accommodation providers as ‘World's Best Ski Hotel’.
The winners are selected by an expert jury consisting of high-ranking representatives of the winter sports industry, tour operators, agencies and press representatives and by the public (ski tourism consumers). Following the announcement of the nominees on 19 June this year, it was possible to vote online for the favourites on the World Ski Awards website from 24 June to 11 October 2024.
Austria´s Best Ski Resort
This year's winners were presented on the homepage of the ‘World Ski Awards’. Despite high-calibre competitors, Kitzbühel not only won the award for ‘World's Best Ski Resort 2024 - Top 3’ but also the coveted title of ‘Austria's Best Ski Resort’ for the twelfth time in a row.
Dr Viktoria Veider-Walser, Managing Director of Kitzbühel Tourismus, is particularly pleased that Kitzbühel has been named Austria's best ski resort for the twelfth time: ‘I would like to thank all those responsible for ski operations and the ski resort - from the receptionists and lift staff to the ski schools and restaurants on the mountain - for demonstrating their exceptional performance year after year, enabling us to provide a high-quality offering for our guests.’
More awards in Kitzbühel
The latest awards for excellence in ski tourism have once again put Kitzbühel and its first-class facilities in the spotlight. The winners include Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel, which has once again been awarded the title of ‘World's Best Ski Resort Company’, and the A-ROSA Resort Kitzbühel 5*, which was once again honoured as ‘Austria's Best Ski Hotel’. The Hahnenkamm Lodge was also honoured as ‘Austria's Best Ski Chalet’, while the Rasmushof Hotel Kitzbühel received the award for ‘Austria's Best Ski Boutique Hotel 2024’.
