19 January 2026 / The 23rd Bendura Bank Snow Polo World Cup 2026 in Kitzbühel proved to be an all-round successful international sporting event last weekend, impressively confirming Kitzbühel's importance as a venue for high-calibre winter sports events. Against the unique alpine backdrop of the Kitzbüheler Horn, Hahnenkamm and Wilder Kaiser mountains, visitors were treated to polo at the highest international level.
After the high-calibre preliminary round matches the week before, the tournament weekend provided another high point and increased the excitement leading up to the final.
The Snow Polo World Cup delivered an impressive sporting performance: eight teams with a total of 24 of the best polo players from over nine nations competed in twelve high-calibre matches over three tournament days, playing dynamic and technically demanding games. In perfect winter conditions and on optimally prepared pitches, the audience experienced a tournament that was as exciting as it was outstanding from a sporting perspective. In the final, Team Allianz prevailed over Pommery with a score of 8:6.5.
Thousands of spectators watched the exciting matches in Reith bei Kitzbühel, many of whom took advantage of the free offer to experience the tournament live. The comprehensive mobility concept was rated particularly positively: the shuttle bus service was very well received and contributed significantly to the smooth running of the event.
Special attention was also paid to the welfare of the horses. Over 120 horses were ready for the tournament, which were housed and cared for in the stables according to the strictest safety and quality standards. Two experienced veterinarians accompanied the event and ensured comprehensive medical care for the animals throughout the tournament.
The 23rd Bendura Bank Snow Polo World Cup 2026 in Kitzbühel was a resounding success and a successful start to a promising sporting year in 2026. This coming weekend, the international snow polo circuit will move on to the Snow Polo World Cup in St. Moritz.
