Kitzbühel Tourism launched two padel courts on Reither Wiese on 13 August 2025, adding another sporting highlight to its range of activities.
On 13 August 2025, Kitzbühel Tourism opened two modern padel courts, once again positioning itself as an innovative sports destination that combines tradition with modern sports trends. Dr. Christian Harisch, Chairman of Kitzbühel Tourism, is delighted with the new offering and sees the opening of the padel facility as another sporting highlight in Kitzbühel.
Padel, the world's fastest growing racket sport, combines elements of tennis and squash, is easy to learn and appeals to both children and adults. The facility was officially opened at the beginning of September 2025 – including a blessing and a varied supporting programme. The 1st Kitzbühel Padel Open also took place during the celebrations, with 30 teams competing in doubles in the hobby, advanced and professional categories. Finally, the winning teams from the advanced and professional classes faced each other in an exciting final at the 1st Kitzbühel Padel Supercup.
The new offering was extremely well received right from the start: in its first season, the courts recorded 650 bookings for a total of 804 hours of play – with 2 to 4 players per session. 425 unique players actively use the service via the Playtomic app.
After a successful first season, the two padel courts are now closing for the winter break and will be available to all sports enthusiasts – locals and guests alike – in the usual manner from March 2026.
