When hiking trousers meet top-class opera singing - the young hopefuls of opera singing thrilled a colorful, yet equally enthusiastic audience with "Kitzbühel Klassik". For three days, before Elīna Garanča's "Classical Music in the Alps", the series of events was also expanded for the third year to include a top-class cooperation with the opera studio of the Vienna Volksoper. For the third time, Kitzbühel Tourismus is enabling young opera talents to enjoy atmospheric concerts in a unique, idyllic setting. The finalists of Elīna Garanča's ZukunftsStimmen and the members of the Vienna Volksoper Opera Studio presented their talent from July 3 to 5, 2024 as part of Kitzbühel Klassik in an unpretentious yet highly professional manner in Kitzbühel's Stadtpark. Elīna Garanča's voices of the future The finalists of Elīna Garanča's Future Voices took over the program moderated by Clemens Klug on two days. To kick off Kitzbühel Klassik on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the Upper Austrian Tanja Elisa Glinsner - Mezzosporan/Alt, who already performed in Kitzbühel's Stadtpark two years ago, and the Lower Austrian baritone Clemens Seewald delighted the audience in light rain. On Friday, July 5, 2024, Salzburg soprano Laura Thaller and Tyrolean coloratura soprano Annina Wachter, who made her debut in Kitzbühel last year, sang their way into the hearts of hundreds of spectators in bright sunshine. The young talents were accompanied on both evenings by pianist Karo van der Sanden. The majority of music enthusiasts listened to the classical sounds free of charge on all three days. At the end of the concert series, Kammersängerin Elīna Garanča once again emphasized her desire to promote up-and-coming singers. The Viennese baritone Clemens Alexander Frank prevailed against around 30 competitors as part of her "ZukunftsStimmen" initiative and will perform together with Elīna Garanča at Klassik in den Alpen on Saturday, July 6, 2024. The opera studio of the Vienna Volksoper as a guest in Kitzbühel This year's edition of Kitzbühel Klassik saw the addition of a new collaboration: members of the internationally renowned opera studio of the Vienna Volksoper presented their skills on stage in Kitzbühel's Stadtpark on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Enthusiastic spectators admired the young talents on site: soprano Kamila Dutkowska from Poland, soprano Jaye Simmons from the USA, tenor Aaron-Casey Gould from the USA, tenor Stanisław Napierała from Poland, bass-baritone Pablo Santa Cruz from Chile accompanied on the piano by Karo van der Sanden. The Artistic Director of the Opera Studio Maurice Lenhard hosted the performance. Kitzbühel Tourism Managing Director Dr. Viktoria Veider-Walser is enthusiastic about this innovative and top-class concert format: "With the freely accessible concerts for young talents by Elīna Garanča's ZukunftsStimmen and the international members of the Vienna Volksoper Opera Studio, we are creating low-threshold access to high culture in Kitzbühel at the start of the summer season and giving young talents the opportunity to present themselves against the impressive backdrop of the Kitzbühel mountains. We are convinced that the "Kitzbühel Klassik" event format is fully in line with our brand and our vision for the future and also contributes to the tourist positioning of high-quality yet unpretentious classical entertainment."
