Kostner - your sanitary house - with us you are in best hands
The founder of the company, Hans Kostner, together with his wife Gertrud, laid the foundation stone for Sanitätshaus Kostner on November 2, 1977, in Innsbrucker Straße in Schwaz. As a master orthopedic technician, he had the vision of constantly increasing the quality of care in prosthetics through improved individual fits and the use of the latest technologies. While Mrs. Kostner took care of the expansion of the trade, Hans Kostner pursued his goal in the prosthesis and orthosis sector with the greatest personal commitment and professional competence. The customer base grew steadily, the team expanded to include a bandagist and a saleswoman, and the business premises no longer offered sufficient space, despite several renovations. In February 1982, the entire company therefore moved to Swarovskistraße, very close to the hospital. The cooperation with the specialist for orthopedics, Dr. Dieter Pavlic, the doctors of the district, the hospital Schwaz and the rehabilitation center Bad Häring worked very well, because they appreciated the high quality and individual care of their patients. In 1982, the first branch was opened in Kitzbühel and in 1985 the branch in St.Johann followed. In 1993, another location was added in Wattens. In 1999, Hans Kostner became seriously ill and could no longer practice his beloved profession. At this time his son had just finished his studies in physics and, supported by an experienced and very committed team (in the meantime approx. 30 employees), continued to run the business very successfully for another two years, until the sale in 2001 to the Tappe company.More vocation than profession, constant striving for new expertise and a great team have been the driving force of the company over all these years.
