Varied menu with regional specialities
In the middle of the Kitzbühel South Mountains, the Hochwildalm is located at 1557 metres at the foot of the Bischof and provides hikers, mountaineers and mountain bikers with regional delicacies in a dreamlike setting. A varied menu with regional specialities - such as St. Johanner Würstl - as well as vegetarian and vegan alternatives awaits guests.

Kaspressknödelsuppe (cheese dumpling soup)
Hearty Kaspressknödel soup: Tender dumplings with spicy cheese in clear broth, an Alpine delight for palate and soul.
This classic creates a real mountain hut feeling! For the authentic taste, a mixture of different hard cheeses from the Alps is used for the Kaspressknödel. Regionality also plays a big role here. A Kaspressknödel needs a lot of attention and care, otherwise it will burn when deep-fried. If it is not formed well, the hot oil flows into the dumpling and makes it unnecessarily greasy. The Hochwildalm has perfected this art and serves the Kaspressknödel soup to perfection. In warm temperatures also on crunchy salad.
The secret:
The secret of our excellent cheese dumplings are the natural ingredients! The dumpling bread comes from the local baker, which makes the dough much more fluffy. Then we add milk and egg as well as onion and parsley from our own garden. The cheese trio, which is responsible for the unmistakable taste, comes from the Wildalm farmer. When the dough is ready, every single portion is freshly fried, which makes our cheese dumplings crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside!
The Hochwildalm is located above Aurach near Kitzbühel at 1,570 m above sea level. A more leisurely ascent leads up to this sunny spot. A total of just over 500 metres in altitude are covered. At the upper part of the trail, you can choose whether to hike along the forest road or take the shorter, direct climb up to the Hochwildalm. From the Hochwildalm mountain inn you have a great view of the surrounding Kitzbühel Alps.
There are ten beds available for overnight stays in shared rooms - ideal for those who are planning a mountain tour lasting several days. Around the alpine pasture there are numerous peaks with breathtaking views.
