Event
‘Old Kitzbühel and its transformation in the 19th century’ invites visitors to discover the history of the town from the perspective of those who shaped life in Kitzbühel – farmers, noblemen and women, miners, craftsmen, citizens and civil servants. Three chapters shed light on the different worlds in which people lived – aristocratic rule and hard field work, mining and craftsmanship. Another chapter deals with Bavarian rule over Tyrol from 1806 to 1814. This can be seen as a harbinger of change in ‘old Kitzbühel’ and leads to the final chapter, the transition to a (tourism) service society, symbolised by, among other things, the faithfully reconstructed ‘Ladei’ from Wegscheidgasse.
