The winners of the 'World Ski Awards,' which took place for the eleventh time this year and were announced in November 2023, have been revealed. Having previously celebrated the coveted title in preceding years, Kitzbühel has once again been honored this year as the ‘Austria's Best Ski Resort.’
World Ski Awards
The World Ski Awards represent the sole global initiative that acknowledges outstanding performances in the ski tourism industry, aiming to enhance current standards. Since its establishment in 2013 by the sister organization of the World Travel Awards, the best companies and regions in the winter sports industry have been annually recognized on national and international levels. The numerous categories range from infrastructure providers as the 'World's Best Ski Resort Company' to accommodation facilities as the 'World's Best Ski Hotel.' The winners are determined by a panel of experts consisting of high-ranking representatives from the winter sports industry, travel agencies, agencies, and members of the press, as well as by the public (ski tourism consumers). Following the announcement of the nominees on June 22 this year, voting for favorites took place online from June 26 to October 13, 2023, on the World Ski Awards website.
Austria’s Best Ski Resort
The winners for this year were presented on the 'World Ski Awards' homepage. Despite stiff competition, Kitzbühel clinched the coveted title 'Austria's Best Ski Resort' for the eleventh consecutive time, alongside being awarded 'World's Best Ski Resort 2023 – Top 3.' For Dr. Viktoria Veider-Walser, CEO of Kitzbühel Tourism, receiving this prestigious accolade is a great honor. The recent accolades for excellence in ski tourism have once again brought Kitzbühel and its top-notch facilities into the spotlight. Among the winners are the Kitzbühel Mountain Railways AG, which received the title of 'World's Best Ski Resort Company' once again, and the A-ROSA Resort Kitzbühel 5*, honored once more as 'Austria’s Best Ski Hotel.' The Hahnenkamm Lodge celebrates as 'Austria’s Best Ski Chalet,' while the Rasmushof Hotel Kitzbühel received the award for 'Austria´s Best Ski Boutiquehotel 2023.'
