Rising Stars of Classical Music on the Open-Air Stage in Kitzbühel

At 'Kitzbühel Klassik', the stars of tomorrow captivated a wide-ranging audience. For the second year in a row, the event was extended by a high-profile collaboration with the Vienna State Opera’s Opera Studio — three days ahead of Elīna Garanča’s 'Classical Music in the Alps'.

For the fourth time, Kitzbühel Tourism made it possible for emerging opera talents to perform atmospheric concerts in a uniquely idyllic setting. From July 2 to 4, 2025, the finalists of Elīna Garanča’s "ZukunftsStimmen" and members of the Vienna State Opera’s Opera Studio showcased their exceptional talent with great professionalism as part of Kitzbühel Klassik, set in the scenic Kitzbühel town park.

Elīna Garančas "ZukunftsStimmen"

The finalists of Elīna Garanča’s "ZukunftsStimmen" took over the program on two evenings, hosted by Clemens Klug. Opening Kitzbühel Klassik on Wednesday, 2 July 2025, Colombian soprano Laura Avila and the 2024 "ZukunftsStimmen" winner, Viennese baritone Clemens Alexander Frank, thrilled the audience. On Friday, 4 July 2025, American baritone Zacharias Galaviz and South Korean soprano Hyejin Han sang their way into the hearts of hundreds of spectators under sunny skies. The young talents were accompanied on piano by Katharina Königsfeld, a Kitzbühel resident by choice.

To conclude the concert series, Kammersängerin Elīna Garanča once again highlighted her mission to support the next generation of vocal talent. As part of her "ZukunftsStimmen" initiative, Slovenian soprano Maja Triler was selected from over 80 participants representing 13 nations. On Saturday, 5 July 2025, she will perform alongside Elīna Garanča at "Klassik in den Alpen" at Schloss Kaps.

A Visit from the Vienna State Opera’s Opera Studio in Kitzbühel

This year’s edition of Kitzbühel Klassik was once again enhanced by a prestigious collaboration with the Vienna State Opera: On Thursday, 3 July 2025, members of the internationally renowned Opera Studio of the Vienna State Opera showcased their talents - relocated to the Lebenberg Schlosshotel due to weather conditions. Enthusiastic guests admired outstanding performances by young artists: soprano Ana Garotić from Serbia, soprano Hyejin Han from South Korea, tenor Andrew Turner from the USA, baritone Alex Ilvakhin from Ukraine, and baritone Andrei Maksimov from Russia, accompanied on piano by Kingsley Lin from the UK and Taiwan. The performance was hosted by Michael Kraus, Artistic Director of the Vienna State Opera’s Opera Studio.

Dr. Viktoria Veider-Walser, Managing Director of Kitzbühel Tourism, is enthusiastic about this innovative and high-calibre concert format: "With the freely accessible youth concerts of Elīna Garanča's 'ZukunftsStimmen' and the international members of the Vienna State Opera's Opera Studio, we create a low-threshold entry point to high culture at the start of the summer season in Kitzbühel. At the same time, we offer young talents the opportunity to present themselves against the impressive backdrop of the Kitzbühel mountain landscape. We are convinced that the concert format 'Kitzbühel Klassik' perfectly reflects our brand and our vision for the future, while also contributing to our touristic positioning of high-quality yet unpretentious classical entertainment."
