Sound | Escape presents its third edition

February 23, 2026 / 3 days – 2 Alpine stages – 20 locations – 30+ artists. From March 20 to 22, 2026, Kitzbühel will be the place to be for electronic music.

After two successful years, Sound | Escape is entering its third round — with a further developed concept. Kitzbühel Tourism Managing Director Dr. Viktoria Veider-Walser sees great potential in the continuation: “For many years, our businesses have focused on electronic music in the mountains. With Sound | Escape, we have succeeded in combining these forces and connecting our partners in the mountains and valleys with an innovative concept. We are looking forward to the third edition of a boutique electronic music festival at the most beautiful time of winter.”

Electronic beats from the peaks to the heart of the city center

It is widely known that top-class DJs regularly perform electronic music in Kitzbühel. Sound | Escape brings together the individual initiatives of the various businesses on the mountain and in the valley into a festival concept. The two Alpine Stages on the Kitzbüheler Horn on Friday, March 20, 2026, and on the Hahnenkamm on Saturday, March 21, 2026, will provide the setting for a varied program in an alpine atmosphere.

Kick-off on Friday, March 20, 2026: Sound | Escape starts in the afternoon with top-class acts at the Alpenhaus Sundowner on the Kitzbüheler Horn. Afterwards, bars and clubs in the city continue the experience and thrill with a perfectly coordinated line-up of international and local DJs. On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the program continues – from the Hahnenkamm Sundowner it moves on to the valley to the establishments. The finale follows on Sunday, March 22, 2026, with a relaxed conclusion on the mountain and in the valley.

Line-up & Venues – Headliners included

Over the course of three days, electronic beats from more than 30 DJs will be heard at 20 different locations on the mountain and in the valley.

A special highlight awaits visitors with Claptone, an internationally renowned house DJ and music producer – known for his energetic live performances at over 275 shows per year at the world's biggest festivals, including Tomorrowland and Coachella. His trademark, the iconic Venetian mask, guarantees high recognition value worldwide.

Returning to the event are Vienna-based Brazilian-Austrian DJ Joyce Muniz, KILIMANJARO—last year's highlight act—as well as style icon Wolfram—and, of course, many other artists, most of whom have long-standing ties to Kitzbühel.

Good to know

During the Sound | Escape weekend, the mountain railways will have different opening hours. On Friday, March 20, 2026, the Hornbahn I and II will operate until 07.00 p.m. and the Hahnenkammbahn until 11.00 p.m. – the Hahnenkammbahn will be closed from 05.00 p.m. to 05.45 p.m. On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the Fleckalmbahn will run until 06.30 p.m., and the Hahnenkammbahn will run until 06.00 p.m., as it does every Saturday.

A ticket from Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel is required for the mountain venues. For festival guests who only want to visit the Alpine Stages, discounted tickets are available for EUR 20.00 for the ascent and descent. This special offer is valid on Friday, March 20, 2026, exclusively for transportation without ski equipment to the Alpenhaus and is available at the Hornbahn valley station. On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the special ticket for the Fleckalmbahn can be purchased at the corresponding valley station.

Some locations in the ski resort can also be reached on foot from the gondola. Due to the great success of the past two editions and the already high demand this year, it is recommended to make a reservation with the participating establishments in advance. At the Alpenhaus am Kitzbüheler Horn, it's first come, first served – so it's a good idea to arrive early. The festival will take place in all weather conditions, subject to change at short notice.

The top-class line-up, including the timetable and presentation of the participating establishments, as well as a map and travel information, will be posted regularly on the Kitzbühel Boutique Festival's Instagram account soundescape_kitzbuehel and on the website soundescape.kitzbuehel.com.
