Description

The Gebra Trail takes us to the beautiful south mountains. The Gebra is a particularly distinctive mountain in the south of Kitzbühel. The trail is technically demanding and condition is needed. Even if the start is facilitated by the mountain railway Kitzbühel. With the Bichlalmlift it goes up to the mountain station. From there we walk south, left above a chapel over and on the trail we always follow the signpost Gebra direction. On contour lines we walk through a nearly untouched landscape with a sensational view to the Hohe Tauern. Always on narrow trails, before the Gebra it becomes technical. Here you should be sure-footed and free from giddiness. The downhill from the Gebra then leads us to the managed Hochwildalm, which can be used for a stop. From here we continue on trails and a little gravel road to the Auracher Wildpark, where once again a few meters in altitude. Pass the game park and head towards Kitzbühel and Haselwand on a trail and take the alternating road to the Auracher town center. At the Hallerwirt, turn right again until we are back at the valley station of the Bichalmbahn.
