20th November - 26th December 2024
Kitzbühel is known far beyond its borders as a destination with tradition and extraordinary charm. During the Christmas season, Kitzbühel is transformed into a magical place where the winter fairy tale comes true against the picturesque backdrop of Kitzbühel's colorful and decorated house facades. From Wednesday, 20th November to Tuesday, 26th December, the Advent market in the Hinterstadt as well as in the Stadtpark is open every Wednesday to Sunday from 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm, on 24th December from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm and on 25th December as well as on 26th December from 2.00 to 8.00 pm. Enjoy the Christmas season in Tyrol and let yourself be enchanted.
The scent of hot chestnuts and fruit punch is in the air. Childhood memories are awakened at the traditional Kitzbühel Advent. Regional delicacies and traditional handicrafts can be found at numerous lovingly decorated stalls. Mulled wine is drunk from specially designed Advent cups, while performances by local choirs and music groups provide an atmospheric setting. Storytellers and the nativity scene exhibition bring the joy of Christmas closer. There are also plenty activities for kids. Children can shorten the wait for Christmas Eve by painting christmas stars, riding the carousel, watching the St. Nicholas parade on 6 December, or visiting the magical Christkindl (Christ child) post office.
From 20th November to 26th December 2024, a Christmas magic fills the historic city center at the annual Advent Market. Wednesday to Sunday, always from 2.00 to 8.00 pm, festively decorated stalls invite visitors to stroll and linger. Live music from local groups creates a contemplative mood. Those who want to warm themselves from the inside will find something at the numerous mulled wine stands, which offer the ever-popular classics as well as specialties such as mulled Uhudler. You will also find a fine selection of Christmas street food - from doughnuts to crêpes and Tyrolean delicacies, there is something for every taste.
Traditional Christmas tunes and native sounds, which awaken memories, invite you to let the year end contemplatively. Through the musical background and the atmospheric mood, you can immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas past from childhood days and feel the glow of lights in your heart. A highlight of this festive season will be the concert by the Wiltener Sängerknaben on December 7, 2024.
At the Kitzbühel Advent Market - one of the most tradition-rich Christmas markets in Tyrol - you can look forward to live music every day, with festive sounds awaiting you both in the 750-year-old town center and in the town park.
The most beautiful anticipation of Christmas for children is certainly writing the wish list to the Christ Child with all the gifts that you would like to unwrap under the tree on Christmas Eve. What could be more magical than writing and sending the wish list directly at the Advent market? Direct delivery to the Christ Child is virtually guaranteed in this festive environment.
Like every year, this year the popular Christkindlpost from Kitzbühel Tourism will take place again. Our Kitzbühel Christkindlpost is located by the carriage in the courtyard of the district administration building. The children drop their own message to the Christ Child in the mailbox and Kitzbühel Tourism forwards it directly to the Christ Child.
The Kitzbühel Advent Market also has plenty of fun and games in store for the little ones. From children's readings with the Christmas story to a historic carousel, all child's wishes can be fulfilled here. While parents can enjoy a glass of mulled wine and pre-Christmas delicacies in an atmospheric setting, boys and girls can immerse themselves in an enchanted winter wonderland. Thanks to the sponsors, children can enjoy these activities for free on the selected days.
On 6 December, Kitzbühel blends tradition with enjoyment: the St. Nicholas parade in the park delights children, while the Krampus run in the town brings an exhilarating thrill. Unforgettable!
The Gamsstadt in the middle of the Kitzbühel mountains is characterized by its perfect location and easy accessibility. Whether you arrive by train or by car - enjoy the mountain world relaxed and carefree.
There are numerous, free and paid, parking lots in and around Kitzbühel, from which you can reach the historic city center on foot. The parking lots P1 and P4 are also designed for buses.
If you arrive by train, it is best to get off at the station "Zentrum - Hahnenkamm". From there you are in a few minutes walk directly in the heart of the Advent Market.
