Why cycle touring?

Cycle touring is part of what is known as gentle tourism and is a particularly sustainable combination of cycling and hiking, where enjoying the landscapes and spaces are to the fore, as opposed to reaching a specific destination.

There are countless options awaiting cycle tourers in the Kitzbühel Alps.

There are a few insider tips, for instance the route from Kitzbühel via the Roman Road to St. Johann, continuing on to Großachental then Erpfendorf. Also worth a detour is the wonderful circuit around Pillersee.

Bike Pocket Guide

A magnificent natural landscape and many traditional Tyrolean farms can be found by cyclists on the wide network of paths in the hilly landscape of the Bichlach. A romantic journey leads through the Brixental valley to the Windau valley near Westendorf. A good level of fitness is required to master the "Cycling World Cup Circuit" via St. Johann, Schwendt and Kössen. In total, there are more than 800 km of cycling and mountain bike trails in the area.

The standard work for bike hikers and mountain bikers is the Bike Pocket Guide with all tours in the Kitzbühel Alps. The map is available in the KitzShop.
