Numerous cycle touring paths proceed along the rivers and streams in the Kitzbühel Alps. So, a cycle tour ought to be a part of your next summer holiday.

Why cycle touring?

Cycle touring is part of what is known as gentle tourism and is a particularly sustainable combination of cycling and hiking, where enjoying the landscapes and spaces are to the fore, as opposed to reaching a specific destination.

There are countless options awaiting cycle tourers in the Kitzbühel Alps.

There are a few insider tips, for instance the route from Kitzbühel via the Roman Road to St. Johann, continuing on to Großachental then Erpfendorf. Also worth a detour is the wonderful circuit around Pillersee.

Cycle tourers will also come across a fantastic natural landscape and lots of traditional Tyrolean farms on the extensive branches of the path network in the hilly landscape in Bichlach. A wild and romantic journey takes you through Brixental to Windautal near Westendorf. To master the 'Cycling World Cup circuit' via St. Johann, Schwendt and Kössen takes a good level of fitness. There are a total of 800 km of cycle touring and mountain bike routes available in the surrounding area.
